As we wait for the anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3, we are greeted with an HD remix of Kingdom Heats 1.5 + 2.5 for Play Station 4. As Kingdom Heats fans who have been with this project since its release in 2002 or when fans jumped in on the second installment in 2006, this game is well-loved and will be well-loved for many years to come.
Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 HD remix will be released March 28th, 2017 for the PS4. This remix will include all 6 installments of the game in HD. This allows you to experience all games in their entirety in beautiful high-definition. Re-exploring worlds and meeting your favorite Disney and Final Fantasy characters once again.
There are 150+ hours of game play in one disk as well as over 180 Disney characters as well. The limited edition will also include and exclusive pin of Sora. There will also be new trophies for the PS4. Unfortunately, those trophies earned in the PS3 version will not transfer to the PS4 version of this game. These changes made to the PSN trophies will make the trophies easier to obtain this time around. The only titles that don’t have trophies are Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded due to them being removed in the PS4 version.
A new menu system has also been added to fit all six games as well as credits for both KH Remix and KH 2 Remix. Load times are also reduced to keep the game going instead of having longer pauses between each section of the world or cut scenes. The cards in Re: Chain of Memories has also been updated for this version.
I haven’t played any of the updated versions and have only played the original versions as each game came out. I will be looking forward to playing the updated versions of all these games before KH3 Releases sometime in the future. The one thing I most enjoy when playing the games is the sound track. I’m sure the sound track will be updated from the originals as well.
I’m never disappointed with this franchise being with this series since it came out in 2002. I’m sure many new comers will enjoy this version and will be introduced into the world of Kingdom Hearts this way. It’s always great to see generations after me enjoying what I enjoyed in my teen years.
The story line and plot can be confusing at times as well as the many new characters that join the fray. I think that’s what makes it most enjoyable because there is never a dull moment in this series. There is always a moment where you can’t wait to know what happens next. The challenges also make the Kingdom Hearts franchise enjoyable as well. Square is usually famous for all their mini games so there’s always something to do when you are taking a break from the main story. I’m sure there are many fans new and old who can’t wait to get their hands on this awesome HD Remaster.
