Game Review: Mortal Kombat X

It’s the game that’s has gamers up in combat and ready to learn every combo in the books. Let’s see how the newest addition to the Motal Kombat family stands up.

To start who doesn’t love the Mortal Kombat franchise? With nine games already made before this. It is still going strong. That is something to admire about this game. They just keep going and getting better. There is any number of people whether they are gamers or not who know this game and have played it at least once. Not to mention people who have played it once and been hooked. imageLike me, Mortal Kombat was one of the games that sent me down the gaming path. But I figure like most things it will come to an end. So going into this game I was a little skeptical. But oh boy was I pleasantly surprised. From start to finish this game amazed me. Once I saw and heard the opening credits I was hooked. There was no going back for me at that point. I had my sense of nostalgia for the game but at the same time I had a taste of something new. Although I was still just a wee bit skeptical, I was crazy geeked for the game. I had waited for it for so long. Now the long awaited characters. I was so excited that they had added people. I didn’t know what to do with myself. I mean I have always had my favorites. But then again who doesn’t? The looks of all the characters. The slight tweaks to old characters and the adding of new ones. It was a big risk for NetherRealm Studios but the reward was well worth the risk. The broke away from what we were always use to but in a good way. Still tipping their hats to the classic side of it. But still making it new and fresh. Adding a whole new spice to the mix. imageWhich was just a wonderful idea and I am so glad they did. The graphics and the details, even the small ones, they just were wonderful. They were sharp and crisp. Just captured your eyes and kept you there from second one. This is what I was hoping for. I will be honest, when playing it toke me a couple minutes to get back in my swing of things. But once I did, BAM! I was back. The controls at first were a little wonky. But then again it is just flat out a different controller than you are use to. But once you get them. You are set. It is almost like gamer muscle memory. The moves even looked crisp and clear. Ooohhh then the takedowns. All the takedowns. They were wonderful to watch. Just the images and graphics of it were bloody fantastic. The game play was super smooth, and as mazingly well put together. I was very very pleased with it. It was almost like cutting a vamp with a sunlight blade it was so smooth. All of that put together and its ability to take me back, but to at the same time give me a whole new world and feeling to experience. It was fantastic. I do not feel they really could have done much if any wrong with this game. But I was so happy with how they decided to do it. How they decided to continue. This game is hands down the best out of all of the games. From point A to point B it does not disappoint in my book. I will and have suggested this game to almost everyone I know. I will continue to do so. This game is just so well put together. I love every second of it. So if you get a moment, please go play it. You won’t regret it. This game just made me so happy to keeping close to its roots but also giving a much more polished feel. Just wonderful.
