Ahhh October….the weather gets cooler, the leaves begin to fall, pumpkin flavored everything, and of course the best part-Halloween!
This month I will bring you some of the cooler pre-made costumes on the web. Most cosplayers are very adament about Halloween store costumes, however not all of our readers are die hard cosplayers and/or use the one day of the year to really let their inner geek flag fly. Don’t fall for the licensed marketing on packages. Usually they have many mistakes and hardly resemble the original character. So being the sweetheart I am I rounded up some of my favorites with a few tips to look your best this Halloween. I actually got lucky and found all the best ones at the same site! Your welcome! :)
First up is for the female readers and is what I am currently obsessing on: Disney Villains. Last October Disney released a Designer Villains Doll Collection which featured the ladies we love to hate all glammed up and rocking some high fashion outfits. I found a website who has some sweet looking Villains costumes that will make you look evil, sexy and sassy all at once. They have Maleficent, Cruella DeVille and Ursula and come in plus sizes. Remember the way to pull these off correctly is Make Up Make Up Make Up! And some props couldn’t hurt either. Use your imagination and re-watch the movies for reference. For example maybe walk around dragging some plush Dalmation dogs behind you if you choose Cruella.
You can snag these at HalloweenCostumes.com from $58-$88
Who hasn’t watched Toy Story? If you haven’t seen all 3 you have at least seen the first one and are well familiar with all the characters. The least appreciated and what I feel are ultimately the heroes of the entire first movie is the Bucket O’Soldiers. The green army men stand patrol and form reconnaissance missions, the most important being on birthdays and Christmas. Without them the entire room of toys would be unprotected. So suit up and paint your face green and stand at attention for the ladies, you might just score a free shot for your bravery in this costume that comes in plus sizes. If you really wanna go all out, cut some pieces of cardboard in the shape of their stand and tape em to the bottoms of your shoes.

Taking a sidestep from Disney lets take a blast in the past to everyone’s favorite thief from the 80’s Miss Carmen Sandiego. There was a long line of computer games, books and even a T.V. show that asked Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? I know that tune is humming in your head right now isn’t it?? Who can forget that sly grin and red raincoat? Well, Halloween Costumes has done it again with this surprisingly faithful version of her costume. Throw on some ravishing red lipstick and black gloves and pose for pictures in this jacket and hat which comes in plus sizes.

Last but not least we have the red skinned Anung Un Rama spawn of Satan himself-Hellboy. I am actually saddened by not seeing more cosplayers as this character. His universe is one of my favorites (I have an unhealthy obsession with Abe) and although a bit tough to create from scratch I have found a pretty good replication of him. All that is missing is the black leather pants, a cigar and a stench of cats. In 1952 Hellboy was granted “honorary human” status by the U.N. and now you can be one too with this costume also available in plus sizes.

ETSY STORE OF THE MONTH:
Every month I will bring you one of my favorite Etsy sellers with the cutest geeky accessories. This month I bring to you the adorable plushies of the Cyberscribe Etsy store hailing from Jersey. You all know how big of a Doctor Who Freak I am and well my dear readers Cyberscribe is now my new best friend! They make the most adorable Whovan plushies on the market. Soft, cute and perfect for cuddling! The Weeping Angel one is even double sided-one still stone and one very hungry-so that you don’t have to roll over and see that malicious smirk on their face when your trying to fall asleep. The best part is not only do they have Doctor Who Plushies, but they have tons of other fandoms as well. Including but not limited to The Avengers, My Little Pony: Friendship is magic, Breaking Bad, Mass Effect and tons more. They are also very open to custom orders and frequent the Con circuit so keep an eye out. You can find them this weekend at Kentucky’s AoiUmaCon. I actually have commissioned them myself for a very special hush-hush plush for one of my Chicago Tardis cosplays. Click and give them your money!!
